Article — Price of books and delivery charges
In accordance with French Act No. 81-766 of 10 August 1981 on the price of books, the price of new books offered for sale is regulated: it corresponds to the price set by the publisher or importer, and the seller may apply a maximum discount of 5%.
For any order containing one or more new books, delivery charges of a minimum of €3 incl. tax apply when the value of the books in the order is less than €35 incl. tax. These charges cannot legally be waived.
Second-hand books are not subject to the single price: their price is freely set by the seller. The condition (new or second-hand) of each book is clearly indicated on the product sheet. (Second-hand books are not yet available on Umaplace.)
The value-added tax applicable to books is 5.5%.
